Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was organized on November 12, 1922, in Indianapolis, Indiana, by seven young educators. This organization was founded on and continues to be steadfastly committed to the tenets of excellence in Scholarship, Sisterhood and Service.
Sigma Gamma Rho has a proud legacy of providing positive and proactive community leadership and support when and wherever needed as indicated by the sorority's international slogan, "Greater Service, Greater Progress."

ABOUT US
Operation Big Bookbag
Operation Big Bookbag is a national program of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. The effective and overall implementation of Operation Big Bookbag serves as an invaluable resource to the children by:
(1) Affording children with quick and easy access to reference materials and other studying aids and tools that will help them in their educational endeavors
(2)Providing the children with the means of completing their homework assignments in order that they may remain current and up -to -date on course projects and requirements and
(3) Assisting the shelters, centers, schools and hospitals in their efforts to meet some of the educational needs of the children and young adults housed at the facilities.
Theta Upsilon Sigma
(Inglewood Alumnae Chapter)
In 1998, six graduate members of Sigma Gamma Rho saw a huge need and the opportunity to better serve the South Bay area of Greater Los Angeles. With the assistance of the Western Region Director, The “Ultimate” Theta Upsilon Sigma Chapter was chartered.
This chapter continues to uphold the mission of this great organization, which is to enhance the quality of life within the community. Public service, leadership development and education of youth are the hallmarks of the organization's programs and activities. Sigma Gamma Rho addresses concerns that impact society educationally, civically, and economically.

Rho Eta
(Loyola Marymount University)
The "Radiant" Rho Eta Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated was chartered on December 8, 2006
on the campus of Loyola Marymount University
by seven dynamic women, and is advised by
Theta Upsilon Sigma Chapter, Inglewood
Alumnae Chapter.
This phenomenal undergraduate chapter
shines bright on LMU's campus, and has
won several Regional Awards. This year,
Rho Eta brought home five Regional
Awards including Outstanding
Undergraduate Chapter Performance.
